Renaissance Studies

(ISSN 1477-4658)

Overview

Aims and Scope

Renaissance Studies is a multi-disciplinary journal which publishes articles and editions of documents on all aspects of Renaissance history and culture. The articles range over the history, art, architecture, religion, literature, and languages of Europe during the period. Editions of important documents appear in their original languages, with introduction, textual apparatus, notes and (occasionally) translations of the documents and sources into English. The journal also contains a substantial book reviews section and often illustrated reviews of major exhibitions worldwide.

Special Issues

Normally there are two Special Issues published each year proposed by Guest Editors. Proposals on well-defined themes that are new or developing in the field of Renaissance Studies are encouraged, and preferably include essays that investigate a wide variety of disciplinary viewpoints and/or geographical areas. Proposals for Special Issues should be sent to the Associate Editor (Dr Cecilia Muratori) by email attachment (Word or PDF) at cecilia.muratori@unive.it, and should comprise a rationale for the volume, showing how its publication would move the field forward, plus abstracts of each essay. Each volume is between 60-80,000 words and essays are peer-reviewed in the same way as individual journal articles.
