International Journal Of Gender And Entrepreneurship

(ISSN 1756-6274)

Aims & scope

International Journal of Gender and Entrepreneurship (IJGE) is the only journal within the entrepreneurship field dedicated to gender and entrepreneurship. It provides an international academic forum for sharing novel, thought-provoking, useful research of interest to academics, educators, policymakers, and practitioners. We welcome manuscripts from all disciplines in order to both deepen and challenge our understandings of gender and entrepreneurship across national and cultural boundaries and contexts. We want to be the journal of choice for those interested in publishing cutting-edge, interesting, and solid work in gender and entrepreneurship.

The editorial team encourages high-quality submissions with original and novel conceptual and empirical content, which will advance our knowledge of gender and entrepreneurship in combination. Manuscripts should thus go beyond merely adding another variable and testing it, and contribute to extending and building theory within the boundaries of gender and entrepreneurship.

The journal offers:

a unique perspective on the practice of gender and entrepreneurship

original conceptual and empirical research that contributes to the advancement of our knowledge of gender in entrepreneurship

an opportunity for researchers, educators, trainers, practitioners, support personnel and policy makers to keep up to date with developments in the field

The coverage of the journal includes, but is not limited to topics within the following areas:

Arts and crafts

IJGE is also seeking submissions of research related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, in particular, research that has a specific, actionable connection to challenges and opportunities in practice. The SDGs most aligned with the journal's topical coverage suggested above are SDG 5 (gender equality) and SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth).

To publish in the journal, it is essential that you try to provide answers to peculiar, pertinent, puzzling, and pressing questions. It is also crucial that gender and entrepreneurship are not merely byproducts in your manuscript but are part of the core of your research. If you are investigating a particular context, this has to have implications for the findings. If you are in doubt whether your manuscript fits with the scope of the journal, you are welcome to contact the Editor in Chief directly on Helle.Neergaard@mgmt.au.dk

All manuscript submissions are subject to initial scrutiny by the Editors and if found suitable for further consideration, sent out for peer review by independent anonymous expert referees. We encourage authors to provide a cover letter at step 6 of the submissions process explaining why your particular paper should be published in IJGE, outlining its unique contribution. All peer reviews are double-blind and submission takes place online via ScholarOne Manuscripts.
